An Oregon Harvest Festival

Day 1 – Arrive in Portland
Arrive early afternoon and your tour manager meets you at the airport. There are afternoon refreshments for your pleasure served in the lobby and time to relax before a gala Welcome Dinner this evening. Dinner

Day 2 – Historic Columbia Gorge and Orchards Galore!
After an included breakfast, you journey to the historic Columbia Gorge. Your motorcoach takes you to Hood River to visit the Clear Creek Orchards – where they grow pears in bottles on their trees! The practice of growing pears in the bottle is traditional in Alsace where pear brandy has been made for hundreds of years. Their Eau-de-Vie porie Williams (pear brandy) received a double gold medal, the highest award given worldwide at the World Spirits Competition in San Francisco in 2000. Then you’re off to River BendCountry Farms for a special lunch that includes cold apple cider and hot apple crisp. Drive up the mountain to board the Mt. Hood Railroad at Parkdale for an excursion down the mountain through the apple and pear orchards that are being harvested. Upon arrival in Hood River, board your coach once more to continue to Multnomah Falls and the Crowne Point Vista House for panoramic views of this scenic national monument. Breakfast and Lunch

Day 3 – Wine Country and Chrysanthemums
Drive through wine country today. Oregon is famous for the Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris variety of wines as found in the Burgundy region of France. The grapes are being crushed at harvest time in this area and often we are fortunate enough to participate in the special year’s event. Lunch is included at a wonderful home that is a replica of ‘Tara’ in “Gone With the Wind.” Enjoy a stop at the Aurora Colony, a historic and antiquing site to witness the many quilts and boutique shops. Continue to the fall flower farms nearby as we see dahlias and chrysanthemums that grow for shipment to other parts of the world. Return to Portland. Breakfast and Lunch

Day 4 – Covered Bridges and Oregon Desert
Depart Portland to drive southward through the Willamette Valley to Oregon’s second largest city of Eugene. See a bit of the countryside as you experience covered bridges and fall foliage color as you enter the Cascade Mountains and traverse the McKenzie Highway for its scenic beauty and the lava beds of thousands of years ago. Arrive in the authentic Western town of Sisters. Explore a while and continue to Bend in the Central Oregon desert, to overnight. Dinner is included this evening. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5 – Mount Hood and Timberline Views
Start your day with a visit to the world renowned High Desert Museum. There is something for everyone! Your circle starts to close as you head northward to beautiful Mount Hood and Timberline Lodge for your lunch. Located at the 6,000 foot level of Oregon’s highest mountain, the views are spectacular.
